چکیده

abstract Children with a deficit of growth because perinatal malnutrition present specificities in the percentage body fat (%BF) that could not be detected by previous mass-based equations. This study developed and validated predictive equations %BF derived from anthropometric variables children aged 7 to 10 living Northeast Brazil, using dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) as reference. Body composition data 58 were utilized. DXA was used A stepwise (forward) multiple regression statistical model develop new The Bland-Altman analysis (CI: 95%), paired Student's t-test, intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) validate compare Two for either gender: boys: %BF: 13.642 + (1.527*BMI) (-0.345*Height) (0.875*Triceps) (0.290* Waist Circumference) girls: -13.445 (2.061*Tight). showed good agreement, limits ranging -1.33 1.24% boys -3.35 4.08% girls. Student’s t-test no difference between %BF-DXA two (p> 0.05), ICC 0.948 0.915, respectively. DXA-based provide an accurate noninvasive method measure changes children.

Validity of anthropometric regression equations for predicting changes in body fat of obese females.

The validity of ten popular anthropometric percent fat prediction equations for estimating changes in percentage of body fat for obese females was studied. Thirty-one obese females (mean ± SEM, %fat = 36.7 ± 1.1%, body mass = 75.6 ± 1.7 kg, age = 32.8 ± 1.1 years) participated in a diet-only, diet-plus-exercise, or exercise-only program. Subjects lost 2.7 ± 0.3 fat percentage points and 3.0 ± 0...

Development and validation of anthropometric prediction equations for estimation of body fat in Indonesian men.

Body composition of 292 males aged between 18 and 65 years was measured using the deuterium oxide dilution technique. Participants were divided into development (n=146) and cross-validation (n=146) groups. Stature, body weight, skinfold thickness at eight sites, girth at five sites, and bone breadth at four sites were measured and body mass index (BMI), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), and waist-to-st...

Anthropometric predictors of body fat in a large population of 9‐year‐old school‐aged children

OBJECTIVE To develop and cross-validate predictive models for percentage body fat (%BF) from anthropometric measurements [including BMI z-score (zBMI) and calf circumference (CC)] excluding skinfold thickness. METHODS A descriptive study was carried out in 3,084 pre-pubertal children. Regression models and neural network were developed with %BF measured by Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BI...
